Gogue AI
Gogue AI - is a mobile app that lets you create deeply personalized audio lectures based on credible books and research, tailored to your specific problems. It lets you explore, save, and resume them with full background playback. When you want to dig deeper, you can chat with an AI about your notes or even talk to a real-time voice agent that captures insights and creates notes as you speak. It feels like listening to a podcast, studying with a tutor, and keeping structured notes—all in one place.
Tech & tools we used
The app is built with React Native (Expo). It uses Apollo Client with Firebase Google Sign-In for auth, Segment for analytics, and Track Player for background audio with lock-screen controls. Voice calls run on WebRTC (Daily SDK + Pipecat for transcripts). Push notifications and deep links come through OneSignal with a custom Expo plugin. Our product journey
I co-founded this product with my friend and partner, Severyn Rybchynskyy. I led vision, product, technology, design, and investor relations, while Severyn drove growth strategy, marketing, and client outreach.
I have known Severyn since 2012, and we have been close friends ever since. We worked in similar areas, though I went the engineering route while he pursued management. We always wanted to create our own product together. He told me that he struggles with learning: it's hard to find time after work, his experience is fragmented across multiple tools, it’s easy to get distracted, and so on.
After some research and discussions, we decided to give it a try. We started working on a microlearning app where you can specify your goal or problem and select a credible source, such as a book. Then, AI conducts research, analyzes the book’s content, and creates a deeply personalized lecture, which you can read or listen to on your mobile device.
The app
